Calling All Students: Nominate Your Favorite Teacher for Teacher of the Year!

For its 16th year, Ivar’s is excited to once again honor and recognize the most deserving educators in the classroom, right here in Washington state! Ivar’s is calling on all students 14 years old and younger to nominate their favorite teachers in the classroom for a chance to take home the honorable award of 2019 Teacher of the Year.

Teachers in our local schools deserve to be recognized and praised for their work, so we’re encouraging students to share inspirational stories about the educators who not only have positively impacted them,  but gives them the “knowledge to soar!”

Once all entries have been submitted by May 20, 2019, one well-deserving teacher will be selected as the Grand Prize winner to receive:  a $500 gift card to use for classroom supplies, a specially engraved commemorative plaque, the official title of Ivar’s 2019 Teacher of the Year and, of course, bragging rights!

Enjoy a Dancing Clam party and delicious Kids Meals!

Of course, we won’t forget about the nominating student of the winning teacher! The student who nominated the Grand Prize Teacher of the Year will enjoy a visit from Ivar’s famous Dancing Clam along with a delicious free Kids Meal for their entire class.

In addition to the crowned 2019 Teacher of the Year, we will also award two teachers a First Place prize of a $150 gift card for classroom supplies and an additional 15 teachers will receive $25 Ivar’s gift cards for Second Place.

How can a student nominate their favorite teacher? Kindergarten through eighth-grade students, 14 years old and younger, may visit select Puget Sound area Ivar’s Seafood Bars or full-service locations (excluding stadiums and Eastern Washington restaurants) to complete an official entry form, or visit Ivar’s website to fill out an online form. We encourage students to write an essay explaining why their teacher inspires them and deserves to be Teacher of the Year. Nominations that include a photograph or picture supporting the content of the essay will earn “extra credit.”

All entries must be received by May 20, 2019.
