Eat and Drink Your Way Around Seattle This July

If you didn’t already know, Seattle is a city full of foodies and delicious cuisines to satisfy any crayvings. From brunch favorites and comfort foods to globally-inspired restaurants and (of course) seafood, Seattle has it all.

This month there are plenty of food-centric events for you to get a taste of what the city has to offer. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites happening this month in and around Seattle. In between the times you’re not at these events, we’re happy to secure a table for you at Ivar’s to enjoy our classics and seasonal specialties.

Ballard Seafoodfest: This weekend, July 12 – 14, head to Ballard to dine on seafood, enjoy live music and drink brews. The Ballard Seafoodfest has brought fish, fun and more since 1974 as a celebration of Ballard’s connection to the fishing industry and the city’s Nordic roots (the same roots our flounder Ivar shares). Over the weekend, 75,000 people come together to enjoy its alder-smoked salmon dinner and beer garden, local music, art and crafts, and fun for the whole family.

Bite of Seattle: For the true food fin-atic, this event is for you! Bite of Seattle is the Emerald City’s original and largest food and drink showcase occurring July 19 – 21. It features more than 200 vendors and live entertainment including: local chef demonstrations, mystery ingredient cook-offs and Free Bite Movie Night. Be sure to come with an empty stomach!

Vashon Strawberry Festival: From July 19 – 21, you’ll be immersed in all things Fragaria (the scientific, genus term for strawberry) at the Vashon Strawberry Festival. With a beer garden, local art, pancake breakfast, street dancing and a parade, Vashon’s Strawberry Festival is sure to become an annual tradition for you and your family.

Tacoma Food Truck Fest: Get ready for the sixth annual Tacoma Food Truck Fest on Sunday, July 21. Enjoy the Pacific Northwest sun while outside in nature at Wright Park and savor your taste buds with delicious food from dozens of food trucks along with live music. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Games of Chefs at Pike Place Market: Join Pike Place Market for Seattle Good Business Network’s third annual “Game of Chefs” where Seattle restaurant chefs compete to create the tastiest and most creative dishes from locally-sourced products. Mark your calendars for this epic showdown on July 24.

Beer and Wine Events (for our friends that are 21+, of course!)

  • Summer Beer Taste: Come to the Phinney Neighborhood Center on July 13 to enjoy micro brews, pub food and live music at its 14th annual Summer Beer Taste. Enjoy getting to know the community, or bring your neighbor while sipping on your favorite brew!
  • Sunsets in Snohomish: Got a thing for history? Experience Snohomish’s vintage feel by walking through 150-year-old streets while sampling delicious regional wines, shopping from local vendors and enjoying the architecture in historic downtown. This wine walk series only happens once a month, so mark your calendars for July 13, August 10 or September 14!
  • Red, White and Brew: On July 25, sip and sample from more than 60 award winning Washington breweries and wineries all in one spot. This annual event, now in its eighth year, showcases award-winning wineries and breweries featured in Seattle Magazine. Don’t miss the tasting event of the summer!
  • Bremerton Summer Brewfest: Take a short ferry ride from Seattle to experience the Bremerton Summer Brewfest. To celebrate the season, Washington brewers will feature their fruit-infused beers. While sipping on some brews in the hot summer sun, learn from the brewers themselves about how they make their craft beers, enjoy live music and dine on yummy, local food!
